Questions and Responses

1.      Do you want 100% of the Phones to have Gig pass through (367 Office and 294 Classroom)?
Yes. We have gig to all computers and I would like to retain that performance.

2.      Can you provide more guidance on the phone types wanted for Office Phones, Classroom Phones and “possible hallway phones”? Number of buttons, screen size, etc.
Classroom phone = a basic set. I would like a display on it but not necessary
Office phone = 4-6 line with display and expansion capabilities

3.      Based on wiring and LAN; are hallway phones IP, Digital or Analog?
Hallway phones are currently analog but we are open to running network cabling to them depending on cost.

4.      In Call Control System; what is “Mac/Web based user interface” asking for?
We just need to make sure we can control the system form Mac OSX 15.5 and up. This will most likely be don’t via web interface outside of Internet Explorer

5.      How many Analog ports, both Station(fax, modem etc,) and Trunk (CO, copper POTS for survivability), are needed by location?
We are anticipating 1-3 POTS or possibly using existing Centrex lines per building. I would suggesting pricing these out as different options

6.      Do you want soft phone and other mobile worker capability? How many users?
Softphone capabilities would be good. I would like to see the pricing structure before committing to a number.

7.      What additional information is available on the Kerio email server?
Kerio is an exchange emulator. More information can be found at their wesite www.kerio.com

8.      What email clients are you leveraging to connect to Kerio?
We mostly use the we client from kerio but it also utilizes entourage, mac mail and outlook clients along with smartphones

9.      Will you use Outlook, Entourage or Kerio Web Mail?
We use them all

GENERAL

·        Will you be sharing the questions (and responses) from all participating vendors?

We do share all questions and responses with all participating vendors via our website.

1.3 GENERAL SYSTEM REQUIREMENT

Voice Mail Server
·        Integration with Kerio Server – what are you using for the desktop Client? Is it Apple or Windows O/S?

Our desktop clients are primarily Mac with some windows machines. We utilize the Kerio Webmail but also use entourage, outlook and mac mail.

Telephones
·        Do the classroom phones need to be wall mounted?  (Need to know for wall mount kits.)

At this point we do not plan on wall mounting the classroom phones

·        Also, if the classroom phones are to be wall mounted, that would indicate is it unlikely they would be connecting to a computer.  Would you still want gigabit phones?

We would like gigabit phones quoted throughout the project. You could quote the none gigabit phones as an option for an alternative configuration.

·        You indicated you may possible want some hallway phones – would these be gigabit too?

Please see previous answer

Gateways

·        Ability to connect analog ports for redundancy at each building – how many analog CO lines (POTS) are required per building?

We anticipate 1-4 analog (POTS or centrex) lines at each location. Some of this will depend on participants execution of 911

·        How many analog station ports are required per building (i.e. fax, modem, TDD/TTY devices, etc.)?

There are at least 1 fax machine in each building with the HS having more.

1.4 SYSTEM FEATURES

Call Control
·        Toll and nuisance number restriction – are you requiring this on an inbound call basis?

This is not a requirement so you can report out if it is an option and how it is executed.
